The idea behind organising the summer school in Belgrade came from Concord Language School, which was one of the first private foreign language schools founded in Belgrade. Concord has become a synonym for high quality education in teaching foreign languages. For more info, please visit www.concord.rs
The management of the International Communication Fund decided to support the idea and create a new event in Belgrade: the Belgrade Summer School. In the first year of running this programme had a large number of students from foreign countries, which has markedly increased year after year.
During these ten years we had more than 300 participants from different countries, some of them came from England, Holland, Greece, Japan, Poland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine, Italy, Argentina, America, Canada, Belgium, and Austria. Apart from having lessons and opportunity to learn some new foreign language, our programme also focused on having fun, going out and visiting different places in Serbia, thus getting to know Serbian culture and tradition.
A typical day looked like this: morning lessons and after school activities whose aim was to find out more about the history of Belgrade while having fun. Since Belgrade is well known for its night life, our participants never missed the opportunity to explore various night bars and clubs. Due to the fact that many participants revisited us we can conclude that what Belgrade has to offer is more than appealing to students. The objective of our BSS is to provide students with the possibility of creating an international network of long-lasting friendship that could also turn into professional benefits in the future.
